Many New Englanders have been waiting for the snow to arrive and it finally did this week. The last major store the area had was in October when the freak storm Alfred knocked the power out for a week. Store in March and April are great photography opportunities. The main reason is because you can always count on having warmer temperatures within a day or two. The increase in temperatures causes the snow to start to melt and the air fills white fog. As the fog lifts it create a white canopy at the tree tops. This scene is a great time to capture your winter landscape shots. One the number one rules of landscape photography is never or almost never have a clear sky in the shot. When you look at some of the best landscape and cityscape photography you will most likely see clouds, fog, or the moon in the sky. These features ad depth and contrast the landscape. So the next time you hear that winter storm is approaching and the following day's weather is going to be in the 50's grab your camera and lens and go shooting.
